Looks like I need to be more diligent in my research. It occurred to me that HTML 5 picture elements might be a better route. I haven't really had a use for them with this site as I have implemented SVG for most displayed images. Looking back at the previous post and the articles that accompanied it, a new research standard came to light. The articles, while containing some valid information are dated. So... What's the conclusion?

Recently I was discussing the topic of DPI with a friend. At times we both do digital photography and the topic is important when talking about printing the best quality photos. Part way through this conversation I mentioned that web images of the past have focused around a 72 and 96 DPI standard. Upon saying this, I started thinking of another standard for my best practices list. How does DPI, resolution and image format apply to the newer high resolution and retina devices?

Last night I had a discussion with a friend on the best practices of data access. This particular topic is not a strong point of mine, so I appreciated the input from a more seasoned back-end developer. The main topic of interest was the usage, advantages and possible benefits of parameterized queries.

The feeling of stumbling upon a cool feature is awesome. Today I was typing in an address for a website when I got caught up in a conversation. When I returned to my keyboard, I must have hit the space bar before typing in the reset of the URL. What I saw in the address bar was a site specific search. I must research this feature.

As is always the case with solo development and grand ideas, I have been spending a good amount of time trying to collect a library of images based on my previous research. And to think the thread that lead to this whole research and development path was based on Google Material Icons not playing nice with my progressive web application. I also need to look at some social media research results and decide where I am going to go with it.

Researching web technologies is one of my favorite pass times. Today I am going to dig through every social media site and any image related information I can find to get a complete list of standards.

After completing a lot of updates to the microdata structure and pondering the importance of structured data object relationships, I decided it was time to register a organization domain. The organization domain will be parked for until I can get this site up and running how I would like, but I will have at least done the hardest part... coming up with a domain name. :D

Now that I have implemented most of the new features and updates to the site, it's time to run a full range of testing and address any possible issues. I am curious to see what these improvements will show when put to the test.

Over the past few days I have collected a list of features I wanted to implement in to the site. Some of these items may require pulling out bits of code or updating the code base, but I believe it will be worth it in the long run.

While experimenting with scalable vector graphics, structured data microdata and the google structured data testing tool, I ran in to an error that I am pretty sure wasn't there before. Looks like a good time to do some searching for answers.
