After finding out last night that the mobile version of Google Analytics doesn't have a readily available way to access annotations, I thought I would look into the possibility of an automated update via an API. Google doesn't seem to support this nor do they appear to want to.
Wanted to keep my Google Analytics reports updated with the website updates. Using the annotation feature is invaluable for this purpose. Why is it missing in the mobile app?
Implemented some fixes to the related articles system and must have missed a couple of test cases. Also found some breadcrumb issues in the amp articles.
Finally got back around to working on the site after two months off. The gap in updates was partly due to a major crunch deadline at work where a 'simple' reskinning of a website turned in to much more than that. Additionally, I paused development to see how well Google would index the site. Well... it's all good.
Looks like the first month of 2019, I will be doing my first international flight. Destination? Germany. While I am there I will be combining an SEO presentation and an SEO Writing Workshop.
When I first started this site, I didn't put a lot of thought into the name of the domain that I selected. Using my own name seemed like a pretty cool idea. Since that time, I the idea in the back of my mind that I would address it again at a later time. That time has come.
Taking a second look at JSON-LD vs Microdata for structured data format. Google identifies JSON-LD as the recommended format, but that doesn't make sense to me. Here is why.
In my recent search results on Google Search I noticed that there are some new rich results showing up. Specifically, question and answer results are popping up in the regular SERP data. Thought I would look around for some official information on the topic.
Google Analytics Academy has released a new course for Google Analytics focusing on power users. I just recently took the course and passed. I thought I would share my thoughts on the experience.
