Got an email notification from Google Search Console this weekend that one or more of my AMPs had an issue that needed to be addressed. After reviewing the code, I found that my recent inclusion of Google Analytics (GA) for AMPs had multiple Google Tag Manager JavaScript includes.
Quick update and some thoughts based off of new information withing Google Search Console regarding amp specific XML sitemaps.
Brought up Google Search Console and started digging through the sitemaps and looking at the sitemap coverage. What I found isn't looking good.
Another late night, or is it early? Either way, I think I am mere moments away from pushing 'the button'. The new version of the site is ready to be consumed, hopefully, by the internet.
Got a notification in Google Search Console tonight that appeared in the overview section of the coverage graph. The notification marked for Sunday, November 25 states "An event has occurred in Google Search that might affect your site's data." There is also a link provided detailing the update.
After playing around with the newest release of Google DevTools Lighthouse audits. I decided to take another look at a solution for dynamically delivery of webp image formats. There is still the problem that structured data image objects don't support the webp format, which kind of kills the whole idea of using webp format, but the savings on file size was worth another look.
After adding or editing an article in the content management system, the list of articles wasn't updating to show the new records or modified entries.
